Airports: Ronald Reagan National Airport is favored
for domestic flights, close proximity to Downtown and its
Metrorail station. For visitors, the most efficient way to
get into DC is Metrorail. Catch it by covered pedestrian walkway
from Terminals B and C. Metrorail Yellow Line is quickest
into downtown. The Blue Line is best for points near the Pentagon,
Rosslyn, Foggy Bottom and Farragut stations.
Taxi: Follow signs to taxi stands outside the greeting terminal where a dispatcher will give you a rate sheet for estimated costs downtown, northern Virginia, and suburban Maryland. If you are going from Dulles Airport to Downtown, expect to pay $45-48. From National Airport to most points downtown, expect to pay $20-25 and get there in 25 minutes when traffic is light.
Train: Amtrak (http://www.amtrak.com) trains arrive in DC every 7-10 minutes from Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Richmond, Newport News, Raleigh Charlotte, Jacksonville and Miami. A convenient Metrorail station is located in the western side of Union Station.
